Budd Van Lines

This company is terrible. I've been relocated several times now and this company is awful. They breached our contract by not finishing the pack on time which did not work for our family as we had to leave and had no one to oversee the final pack. They never gave us the packing list (as required by federal law) and eventually sent it by email and it was completely illegible. They packers left trash and dirt everywhere and they were all sick so we asked them to use only one restroom and they used them all (and left evidence-gross) and broke a toilet upstairs and didn't tell us (which affected our sale). A ton of things were broken and they won't stand behind the very expensive insurance my company paid for them to make it right. They refuse to do anything. Do NOT Use this company.

Facing 99 degree heat and horrible humidity, our two Budd Van Lines movers were amazingly professional, friendly and organized. In under three hours, our movers (Mr. Curtis Archer and Mr. Albert Kullman) did the packing and loading that would have taken seven or eight people a half a day to complete. I was impressed beyond expectations. Simply an awesome experience. Let's face it, to the average person moving sucks! Usually when an task such moving is complete, I think "Thank God that's over". In this case I thought "Thank God for Budd".

Mike, Eddie and their team arrived as scheduled and on time and fully prepared. From the beginning, they we courteous, respectful, communicative and diligent. The team broke up into sections of the house to expedite the packing process with Mike taking primary responsibility and Eddie 2nd in command. Great care was undertaken moving large items and no damage occurred moving - to furniture or homes. It was a very humid two days but the team displayed nothing but professionalism. I would highly recommend using Budd Van Lines for any type of move.

Budd Van Lines provided exceptional service with our move. We couldn’t have hired a better organization to move us across the country. The staff at Budd Van Lines exceeded our expectations in every way, they truly went over and above to ensure that we had everything we needed and kept us informed every step of the way.

Most importantly, I would like to thank Denise Anderson and Al Bronstein for their kind and thoughtful help. I know that every business is experiencing challenges with this pandemic, but Budd Movers took excellent care of us throughout this move despite the challenges.

The WORST AND MOST UNETHICAL I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. STAY AWAY FROM BUDD! Budd did the packing. I was given a paper to sign with no comments by the driver. When they delivered to our new home in FL again I was given papers to sign with no comments. When we unpacked we found that a tv, vinyl cover for my smoker and all the accessories for my Kitchenaid 16 cup food processor were missing making the processor useless. The accessories are no longer available. I must buy a new one for $600-$800. When I reported this to Budd the final answer was "have a nice day" or in the vernacular "go pound salt". I am a doctor and I have a deep understanding of proper ethics. Budd cannot even spell the word ethics.

It's such a bad moving experience with Budd Van Lines. I moved from Kentucky to Minnesota recently. My household goods were packed and loaded on 5/2. On 5/4, the coordinator sent me an email to tell me the earliest delivery date is 5/15. I was busy with my graduation commencement and orientation of my new job. I didn't notice the email from the coordinator. The coordinator sent me another email on 5/9 and told me 5/15 was not available since I didn't confirm the date and the earliest delivery date will be on 5/29. I was shocked when I heard of this. I didn't receive a single call or message to remind me to confirm the delivery date. I wasn't told the consequence if I didn't confirm the delivery date neither. This is my first time to move my household goods. I wished to have a smooth move with the help of a move company. Now the delayed delivery caused a lot of inconvenience to me. My family needs to live in hotel for more than half a month. I'm so disappointed with the move arrangement and service.

This was the ninth move for our family. We have been all over the U.S. with various corporate moves for my husband's job. By far our experience with Budd was the BEST! Everyone we worked with was very professional from the scheduling team to the packers and the driver. We sold our house much quicker than expected so we had to put the majority of our belongings into storage while waiting for our new house to be built. NOTHING was damaged or lost. The way Budd packs your stuff into large shipping containers is great! We had some delays in construction with our new home, and the team worked with us to ensure a prompt delivery after closing on our home. (It was only days before Thanksgiving, too.) I can't say enough about the positive experience we had with Budd. I have many moves to compare it to and consider myself well educated in the moving process. I would recommend Budd to all of my friends and family.

We had to use Budd Van Lines for an interstate relocation for work as that was the moving company chosen by our relocation coordinator. They movers were nice and friendly on the pickup phase of the move, but careless on the delivery side. Once the move was made and they were paid, they ignore you for any insurance claims request of damaged products related to the move. They basically just ignore you for 90 days after your move, and then say your window for filing a claim is over.

Don’t believe when they say your stuff is insured, because they will just ignore your claims request. If you can use an alternative company for your corporate move, do so because Budd Van Lines is a joke.

I used Budd Van Lines as art of a relocation move out of state, and I must say that was the hardest and most confusing move I had ever made. I have moved several times in my life, but this one was by far the most difficult, and expensive.

I packed almost everything myself, as I was asked to as part of my relocation plan. This upset them -- the movers were furious. They wanted to charge custom crating charges from third parties for anything they deemed "unusual", like 40" TV's or pictures. So, I ended up taking all this "unusual" stuff in my truck to sit in my parents garage for 90 days. Their third party people had to disconnect my appliances, so they could be tested. They charged me to disconnect my refrigerator I had been using, only to tell me that it did not work perfectly, and therefore they would not move it, as they could not be responsible. So, basically I paid them to disconnect my fridge and tell me it was broken -- go get rid of it now, on moving day!! They took everything I had packed out of boxes and wrapped it in paper -- most times for no good reason -- just to make thing bulkier.

To that end, they said I had 29,500 pounds of stuff -- after they packed everything. This was just shy of the maximum allowed to transport, per policy. I asked them for bills of lading to prove this, which they refused. I have a 3 bedroom house, so this weight is just not even close. I asked for storage estimates weeks ahead of and weeks after they packed my stuff. They gave me a "quote" after the first 30 days had expired -- $88.00 per day for storage. In itself, this sounds high, but they took over 45 days to schedule delivery. Their excuse was they needed at least 30 days to schedule delivery, but were having trouble meeting this. In other words, I was paying all of this money just for storage ($5800 to be exact), because they could not schedule our delivery on time. I was paying for their unability to commit to my move.

Ridiculous!! I hope somebody reads this and understand what I am saying. I could have paid for a cross country move on just the "storage" fees.

If you ever move with Budd -- don't let them move a single box until you get everything, I mean everything in writing. Better yet, don't do it. Hire somebody else.
